Puerto Rico

Seven students enrolled in STS 201 (Climate Change, Energy, Biodiversity) at Penn State Brandywine in Fall 2012 traveled to Puerto Rico for four days immerse themselves in cultural and scientific explorations.  One of the days was spent in the only tropical rainforest part of the U.S. National Park system, El Yunque National Forest.  The group received a private, customized tour to explore biodiversity and impacts of climate change in the rainforest.  The students each utilized an iPad to record notes, images, and video.  Upon return to campus, the students decided to collaborate and create one iBook to capture the information learned on their rainforest exploration.  For this collaboration, the students utilized shared storage space in the Media Commons and the program iBooks Author on the campus Media Commons computers.
