If your someone who just moved to Massachusetts or are thinking about it here are some of my favorite towns that are close to Boston and great for family.
If your looking more towards the suburbs so your kids get to grow up with the white picket fence and cul de sac there are many beautiful towns that are safe and yet a short drive from Boston. One in particular for people with deeper pocket is Dover Ma. This town is small, quiet and home to a fantastic school system. It has been ranked the number one public school in Massachusetts for many years. It actually is so small that it combined with its neighboring town Sherborn Ma. These two towns have their own elementary schools but their middle school and high school is combined. These towns are not only small but are also home to beautiful farms and scenic views. These towns are pricy but the location is fantastic. It neighbors the down of Dedham which means Legacy place is right next-door, its a 20 minute drive to Patriots place if you want to go shopping or see a game and its about 30 minutes from Boston.
A cheeper place that has more going on is a town called Natick. This is one of my personal favorite towns. It has more diversity and their town has a lot more features. Its still a great town with a great school but its definitely cheeper. Unlike Dover and Sherborn it has a more developed center with shops, food places, and a much larger sense of community. They hold a farmers market every saturday morning in their centers common. Not to mention this town is known for its acceptance of the LGBT community. Everywhere you go in this town you see pride flags on their churches, streets and houses. This town has a train in their center as well for those who plan on commuting to Boston every morning. This town overall is safe, cute, close to Boston and a great place to live. One should definitely look into this town if your looking for a place to live near Boston.
Lastly another great town with a fantastic center is Wellesley Ma. This town is definitely pricy but fantastic. Its center is home to so many shops, food places, and just all around a bunch of businesses. The town is home to its own college, Wellesley college and other small colleges like Regis. This town has a fantastic school system along with beautiful parks and buildings. This is a great place to raise children and has great public transportation to get into Boston.
