  1. The internet of house sounds like a really cool thing. Philips Hue is definitely a smart and useful light to many people, especially there is many people like to use their cell phone before they go to sleep, and many people will turn on the light and use their smartphone and it is not good to their eyes. But with this light, they can just control their light by their smartphone so they control the light anytime they want without going to the light switch and they can use the smartphone with the light turn on and later just turn off the light by using their smartphone. On the other hand, I never thought that light bulb can have other function instead of lighting! It can save more money to have a smart lighting with an alarm or a speaker! It is a very good marketing strategies.

  2. I agree with the writer that people should know what kinds of Internet of things are around us and how to use them. If people can control the color, lightness, and if it even has speaker option in smart lighting which people can control with their phone, it will definitely save their time. It is very short time to turn the lights on/off or change brightness, but if it sums up, it could probably save about ten minutes of our day. Though on the other hand, if people became to use to change settings by phone, if the phone is not with the person all the time, people might get anxiety of the phone. Think about remote control for TV or air conditioner. What happens if they are not where they are supposed to be? People have to look around and might get stressful to find them. Same thing could happen to the phone. What happens if a person loses the phone? Then can they not control on the lights until they find their phone or get knew one? If people rely on smart phone to much for smart lighting, then people can get anxious when the phone is not there. According to Stacey who had problem with Phillips Hue lights, she said she had problem of lights by having lights automatically turning on and off which she did not expected. According to her, there is no training data or inputs which Hue light system needs. Those lights cannot know where the person is in the room and what the person is doing at home. Until these things can be fixed, not even Hue lights but all the other smart lighting can bother us more.
