A lot of people are doing the Ketogenic diet, which is when they will eat high fat and low carbs, with moderate amounts of protein. This invention was made for individuals on this diet. The Keyto Diet Tracker is a “breathalyzer” that is able to measure the ketones in your breath, which then tells you how much fat you are burning. This program also comes with an app for your phone in which this breath sensor is connected to. Once you breathe into the sensor, the keyto tracker app will tell you how your’e doing, and give you health advice such as types of exercise you should do, or what would be best for you to eat on that particular day. Customers who have used this product have claimed to of lost 5% of their weight in the first week. People also claim they have been getting better sleep, improved energy, and improved mental focus. This company also believes that it is easier to loose weight and stay on top of diets when you are doing it with a friend. This product built in different social challenges for customers to take part in as a motivation to stay on top of their diet.

This product is a very out of the box weight loss program that is a much larger step up from using a simple app to measure our caloric intake. Individuals that suffer from ketosis will really benefit from this product. This is a disorder where there are raised levels of ketones in their body tissue. This products ability to track their ketones just by using one breath is not only very beneficial to them, but also convenient.

I think this is another step that we took in advancing technology. The “Internet of Things” as we learned from our homework is also displayed here. We are taking a simple task of tracking our weight, food intake, and exercise, and adding a scientific program to it to make loosing weight more than just standing on a scale. A lot of people who have ketosis usually have to prick their finger and analyze their blood to see their ketone ratio. This product will replace that method, and make checking the status of their health less painful, and more convenient.

  1. As someone who has done the Ketogenic Diet before, I think you should check some facts about the diet. One of the main points of the keto diet is to go into ketosis, and people do not “suffer” from ketosis as this is the point where one burns the most amount of fat. This is why the diet is somewhat controversial, as some people think doing the diet overall is bad for you, while others believe ketosis drives your body to burn as much fat as possible. A person who is pursuing this diet does not eat any carbs whatsoever, and basically puts themselves in a state where ketones replace glucose. During ketosis, the body is producing the largest amount ketones and thus burns the largest amount of fat. It can sometimes take months to actually be fully in ketosis and to actually reap the benefits of the diet. Having a tracker would be a definitive way to know if you are in fact in ketosis. My problem with the diet was knowing whether or not I was eating the right amount of each of the food groups that I needed. So, with this tracker, I would be able to know what food to eat more of or what exercises I should do to aid the fat burn, ultimately contributing to success.

  2. After reading the article on how Keto Diet Trackers work I felt a little level of relief int erm son the positive things these Internet of Things can do for our society as a whole. I feel that when I think of artificial intelligence and IoT I automatically think differently instead of the first initial reaction that normal people would have. But this article actually gave me that first reaction that I normally do not have reading about IoT. The Keto Diet Tracker is an app for mobile devices that individuals can now use to help track of their weight and fat intake by simply taking one breathe into this one specific type of sensor that is paired up with the app on the device being used. The one thing that I liked about this tracker was that it could customize to your own personal preferences and allow you to set your own goals to reach. The cool thing about this new tracker is the idea comes from the fact that it is meant for those who suffer from ketosis and need a convenient and manageable way to count Keto macro intakes. This is just another reason why I got excited to read about this new app that has created better and healthier ways to live with the help of technology once again!

  3. The Keto tracker is just another example of how technology is bettering our world. I think any technology that helps someone’s health is a great investment. The Total Keto Diet App that came out in 2018 is a great app to keep track of your progress throughout the day. The app has some of the best features like recipes, articles, and shopping lists. Not only are you tracking what you put into your body, but the use of the app’s resources to better work through this diet. The app is teaching you how to even do the diet and the steps it takes. Something as little as an app can improve your health.
    As you stated before the new glucose meter is a step up from just an app. To have the luxury to just blow into something rather than having to prick your finger is a major advance in technology. The people who have the disorder can now take care of them self just a little more convenient now.   4. This gets me excited for the future because it shows the potential of the internet of thngs. The fact that this device has enabled people to change their procedure of checking their keto levels is amazing. I have always been afraid of thecnology making life so simple that human beings would become lazy. Examples of this however, is making me reconsider this thought. If technology can make being healthy more simple such as making an excercise more appealing then the possibilties are endless. Devices like this could provide the spark to revolutionize the health industry. Imagine in the future when we have sensors that can connect to our arms and tell us biological information. Then this sensor could provide suggestions to improve a person’s health. The device could suggest certain foods to eat to raise vitamin levels and what muscle group needs excersize the most. Of course with all these devices being designed, their will surely be competition. I have looked up ketone meters and discovered several sites with different types of meters. Most of the meters hoewever did have to draw blood from the person in order to detect the keto levels. Hopefully this device will inspire more people to invent devices that make health procedures more elegant.
