Huawei released their cellphone model P30 and P30 Pro on March 26 in Paris. They announced that this generation of cellphone will take your photography game into the next level.
Huawei P30 contains four rear cameras which sound like not a huge change from the P20 which contains three rear cameras. However, the CEO of Huawei said this generation of Huawei cellphone will rewrite the rules of photography. The cameras can not only give you a better aperture and OIS but also give you the opportunity to take photos at night without the flashlight.
It is funny that the Galaxy phone which Samsung made cannot see the galaxy. Said by the CEO of Huawei. They are confident with their new phones on the camera function. Huawei post the comparisons between all the popular phone brands in the market and none of them won Huawei in this area.
The ability to shoot photos during night time is not the only improvement Huawei made on this P30. The camera zoom is another highlight of the announcement. Huawei offers a 50X digital zoom on P30 Pro. With this 50 times zoom, P30 Pro can let the users see a more clear moon at night than ever before.

Although the other functions do not have a lot of changes, the camera is already impressive enough. People predict that huge progress and relatively cheap price can help Huawei to occupy more market shares in the future.

I used to have the LG G6 as my prim Ary phone which boasted the fact that it had two cameras and that one of those cameras captured in wide angle. This was awesome at first but after awhile it seemed like more of a gimmick. The camera was not terrible by any means but I do not believe someone should buy a phone just for the camera. This new phone may be good for a photographer as a secondary phone instead of buying an expensive camera. But at that point why would someone buy two phones? They could just buy a camera that would do the same thing. According to Hannah Bouckley of home bt.com ” If you are a more serious photographer who wants to experiment with shutter and aperture and develop your photography skills, it is worth buying a compact camera, particularly with manual control and a versatile lens” (2018). This statement proves my point that one should not buy a phone with a great camera if they are looking for photographic skills. Perhaps the Huawei P20 will be up to par with some compact cameras and will be able to break the old system. If the phone is able to be an excellent smartphone while also being a great camera for photography then this will truly be a great work of innovation.

The trend of more cameras on cell phones is certainly a well-established trend. In 2019, Apple plans to release a phone with three cameras on it. The “camera bump” that everyone so despised only a few years ago is now bigger than ever taking up a whopping third of the horizontal space on the iPhone. Had this phone been released a few years ago it would have been the tech industries laughing stock. But today people don’t seem to mind as much. With the introduction of 4K and now 5K photography into the smartphone arena, more and more the camera is a place of highlight. Apple boasts a very powerful wide-angle lens, as well as the new ability to shoot surroundings in 3D! Apple is marketing augmented reality mainstream with this newest feat and people seem to be loving it. What once would have been a complete and utter laughing stock is now a very coveted technological necessity for many consumers.
