Tesla’s Newest Project

Recently, Elon Musk himself has been on the look out for new engineers to pursue with the process of the self driving car. With this new phenomenon close to hitting the market, Musk is determined to make this new project his first priority and perfect the new model Tesla. He recently tweeted “Ramping up the Autopilot software team at Tesla to achieve generalized full autonomy. If interested, contact autopilot@teslamotors.com”. It sounds like he’s not playing any games when it comes to this new self-driving car. He even claims that he will be personally interviewing these future employees. With many companies getting into these new projects, Musk is not willing to get left behind. In fact, the current models already have many autopilot features that make Tesla cars different from all of the rest. He predicts that this project will be completed in the next 3 years. I’m definitely excited to see for what’s to come for Tesla and all of the other competing brands.

Instagram Invaders

Now a days, people are completely consumed with the idea of social media. How many likes their pictures got, how many followers they have on instagram and twitter or how many friends they have on Facebook. Turker Bayram, an app developer, created an iPhone app (InstaAgent) that tracked and notified you on who viewed your instagram profile. For social media user’s, this was the ultimate tool. I mean, what could be better than knowing who looks at your pictures right? Around 500,000 people downloaded the application and were using it daily. It became extremely popular un the United Kingdom and Canada as well.

Well it turns out that things weren’t as good as they seemed. Recently, 16-year-old, David Layer-Reiss, has discovered that this tech savvy application actually hacks into your instagram and steals your username and password. After downloading the app, David was able to figure out what information InstaAgent was receiving. He spoke up because of his worry that these hijackers could commit more serious crimes than just your social media passwords. Now as investigations take place, Turker Bayram is nowhere to be found.

How Sweet is 3D Printing?

3D Printing has become the latest trend without a doubt. Companies are using 3D printers for everything now a days, making tools, equipment and even machines. But most recently, it has taken its next step. The Magic Candy Factory, located in Germany, has begun making 3D printed candy. Although typically it is not the healthiest option, it tastes great and can be consider a fun small desert. A consumer can go on the company Ipad interface where they are able to design their treat. After making their desired piece of art, the customer simply clicks “print” and watches their creation come to life. This process only takes about 5 minutes. As of right now, the 3D printer used in this store only produces gummy candies, but in the near future who knows what could be made.

The Magic Candy Factory is the first company to introduce this new technology into the food industry but many others are heading in the same direction. It has been surprising to see how many people love this new creative way of eating food. The next step is to have 3D printers at most restaurants, especially the ones welcoming kids. 3D printing is shaping the future of our generation including the foods we consume. I’m not sure if that could be considered a good thing or a bad thing.

Blackberry’s Last Chance At Survival

As a former Blackberry lover, I can show a little sympathy for the fallen smartphone company. As many of us should already know, Blackberry isn’t at the top of its game right now, as Android, Apple and Samsung are taking the lead in the smartphone industry. In fact, Roger Cheng from cnet.com states that “BlackBerry-powered smartphones represent less than half a percent of a market that’s led by phones running on Android and on iOS, the software that powers Apple’s iPhone, according to research firm IDC”.

Recent news shows that Blackberry is, in fact, trying to survive in the industry. They have released their next product: the Blackberry Priv, a smartphone that is actually driven by the well-known Android software. The Priv is said to be released within the next couple of months and will include more access to apps than previous Blackberry devices. With some of these changes and many other features, the company is hoping that they can get back on track in this highly competitive market.

Within the past couple of years, Blackberry has struggled to keep their business alive. At this point, the Priv will be there last chance to recuperate lost profits and gain back former and new customers in the market. Will this new product be successful with their new product or will this be the end of Blackberry?
