Nowadays, driverless car is a really hot topic. Today, the news I am going to talk about is “Baidu driverless car completes test on Beijing roads.” The test was took near the headquarter of the Baidu. Baidu is a tech giant in China. The whole test is 30km. The road include many kinds of the situation. Such as the U turn and sharp turn. The car was controlled by itself. The test is really successful.

Many company are working on the driverless car, such as the Volkswagen, Mercedes and BMW. Most of these companies has already have the technology. But none of them using the technology on the car. There are few reasons. The driverless car is not the same as the other technology. Its liability is about the life of the people. So the technology will not be permitted to use until it fully successful. The law will also not permit the technology because of the previous reason. But there are many pioneers. For example, the Mercedes-Benz. Benz use part of the Driverless technology on their cars. The high end Benz cars has the functions, such as the adaptive cruise. The car will recognize the front car and keep a proper distance. The car can also recognize the line on the highway, and keep the car in the lane. The car can also stop automatic before crash. These technologies are the important parts of the adaptive cruise. If these functions work with the GPS, the car will drive itself.

The driverless technology is really hot now. I hope some day, we use the technology on the road.

We all use a lot of the electronic devices in our life. There is a big problem for the smartphones, laptops, tablets. It is the battery. We all know a good battery can support the iPhone or the smartphone for one to two days. So we need to charge the phones nearly every day. That is too bad. If we forget to charge the phone, we will work and live without phones. The only two ways to solve the problem is to improve the charging technology and improve the battery. The best battery we are using now is the lithium-ion batteries. Most of the mobile device company pay more attention on the charging technology. For example, the Samsung and Nokia has invent the technology of wireless charging. That makes the charging much easier. But the wireless charging is really slow. Huawei’s new technology last week unveiled lithium-ion batteries that recharge in minutes rather than hours. That is a great technology. “The batteries, developed by Huawei’s Watt Lab, recharge 10 times faster than their competitors and can reach 50 percent capacity in two to five minutes, the company said.” This will help us solve the problem of the battery life. If our battery is empty, we can solve the problem in five minutes. So that means we can charge anytime. If we only have five minutes, we can charge the phone that can be used for more than five hours. Although this technology is not as mature as we want. But the scientists of the Huawei Lab thinks we can use the Fast-Charging Batteries in the near future.

The new Al system is a great step to artificial intelligence. This system can help the system thinking as a human being. This system can know what we like and what we need in the electronic system. If we search something in the google searching engine. The google will know what kinds of the information is that we want. For example, when we using the searching engine, it sometimes will give the answer that is not what we mean. This might because some words is not the meaning from the face. Also, when we translate something by using the google translate, the results may always not good in grammar. But all of these problems will be solved by the new systems. The new systems will think like a real person. The greatest thing for this system is that it can study the new things. It can study the “image recognition, machine translation, sentiment analysis — there are really very few constraints”. If there is something that the system does not know, we can teach it.

The new Al system can be also used on the robot. The artificial robot which has this system, can think and study like a human being. This will be a great improvement on the robot technology. In the past, the robot are always know the things which we enter into the system. But if the robot has the new system, that means people do not need to enter the program. The robot will be seems like a human being. The Siri is a kind of artificial intelligence. But Siri can not study, so it will not improve itself. It can only be better by the programmer.

Artificial limb is not a strange things in our today’s life. Oscar Pistorius has broken the 100 meters world record by using the artificial limb. Although many disabled can walk or live as an ordinary being. They can not feel they have the arm or leg. “Artificial skin created in a lab can “feel” similar to the way a fingertip senses pressure, and could one day let people feel sensation in their prosthetic limbs” from a report of Livescience. This will be a great news of technology for the disabled who are using artificial limb.

The researcher use the channelrhodopsin to make a test on the mouse. Finally, they this is a great kind of protein that can make the mouse to feel the touch. This protein can connect the people with the electric devices. The researcher said “We actually did connect [the sensors] to a robotic hand and a computer”. So I think the disabled can also check the condition of their artificial limb on the cell phone or computers. It will work like the vehicle computer. We can check if the artificial limb works well or not much more easily.

The new technology can be also used on the robots technology. For the bionic robots, the researcher can make the robot have a real-man skin. When we touch the robot, the robot will feel that someone has touched it. It sounds great.
