Hello my name is Aakash. I am a senior in computer science at Penn State. I enjoy playing video games, and, indeed, play them regularly. I enjoy a variety of games, but I have a couple favorite types. The three types of games I play the most are RPGs, Shooters, and Fighters.
I really enjoy playing RPGs. The open world nature of these types of games is very appealing to me. I love exploration in video games, and the exploration found in these games is the best. The leveling system provides a way for me to feel like I’ve invested in something worthwhile and working towards and gathering loot is also very addicting for me. Lastly, these games usually have substantially more content than other types of games, so it is always a sure fire way to get the best bang for my buck. Some of my favorite games in this category are Dark Souls, Dragon Age, and Fallout.
Another genre of video games I enjoy is Shooters. These games are fast paced, action oriented, and can provide hours of fun through multi-player elements. In addition to this, some shooters incorporate RPG progression and/or looting elements into the game, which makes it double the fun. I really enjoy playing online with friends, and since shooters often have a multi-player system, these games can grab my attention for long periods of time. Some of the best games from this genre that I enjoy are Call of Duty, Halo, Borderlands, and Destiny.
Lastly, my absolute favorite genre of video games is the fighting genre. I am pretty good at inputting button combos and timing, so fighting games come naturally to me. Playing against others, either locally, or online, really gets me competitive, and I love it. I even own a fight (arcade) stick. My favorite game is Street Fighter, but I also enjoy Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Super Smash Bros., and Playstation All Stars.
