Let’s Eat!

Hello Disney fans! I hope you’re hungry (or maybe not hungry) because today we’ll be talking all about food! When I was in Disney over spring break, I ate a lot of tasty treats, and took pictures of almost all of them, so today I’ll be rating some of my favorites. Let’s get to it!

Up first we have the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade from Pineapple Promenade in EPCOT. I know, I know, it’s not really food, it’s a drink, but this was so delicious I had to put it in first place. This drink was exactly what it sounds like. It was frozen lemonade with a hint of violet flavoring and an edible flower on top. It wasn’t overly sweet and very refreshing. 10/10!

Next is the Strawberry Shortcake from the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort. This dessert was DELICIOUS. If you know me, you know strawberry shortcake is my favorite dessert, and this one did not disappoint. It had dollops of whipped cream and fresh strawberries on top of a delectable light pound cake. It was plated on top of a bit of icing with vanilla ice cream and cake crumbles on the side. 11/10!

One of the most unique dishes I ate was the Frushi from Hanami outside the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT. This was fruit sushi, essentially. It had strawberry, pineapple and cantaloupe all wrapped in sweet rice and pink soy wrap. On top was whipped cream, berry sauce, and toasted coconut. It may sound a little weird but it was SO GOOD. 10/10!

This isn’t a dessert, but it was so good, I have to include it. It was the lasagna from Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk. This had layers upon layers of cheesy goodness with red sauce and a basil garnish. I am not usually a fan of meat lasagna, which this was, but this dish was so good I didn’t even care. 10/10!

Next we have one of my least favorite desserts I had. This was the limited edition 50th Anniversary Cupcake from Zuri’s Sweets in Animal Kingdom. It was a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing and a fondant embellishment. It was extremely sweet, too much so for me, and the cake was not super moist. 4/10

Next we have Teddie Berra’s Swingin’ Shortcake from Pecos Bill in Magic Kingdom. This delicious dessert is a 50th Anniversary dessert inspired by the Country Bear Jamboree (a really cute show in Frontierland in MK). It is a peach and raspberry truffle with crumbled cake, strawberry pearls, and edible flowers on top. It was kinda like a strawberry shortcake in a cup but instead with raspberry and peach. It was so so good, but I didn’t love the strawberry pearls. The crunch felt out of place with the rest of the dessert. 9/10!

Lastly, we have a dessert that I have been dreaming about ever since I had it. This is the smores cup from Kona Island at the Polynesian Resort. This dessert had layers of marshmallow fluff, chocolate mousse, and graham cracker crumble, with a chocolate leaf on top. The top marshmallow layer was also toasted with mini sprinkles on top, which made it even better. This dessert was rich, but incredibly good. The flavors all worked together to be a mouth-wateringly scrumptious dish. 12/10!

One more honorable mention is the Bomboloni from Primavera Kitchen outside the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT. This was a cream-filled Italian donut with raspberry sauce and powdered sugar. I don’t think I even need to tell you how good it was. It was just so delicious. 13/10!

There are so many other desserts and treats I could mention, but these are all I have time for. I hope this post made you hungry, I know I am! Until next time!

  1. Wow, all of that looks delicious, especially that lasagna. I didn’t know Disney did that much with food, so I’m really impressed by the presentation and such. I love the pics and reviews

  2. I think it’s interesting that Disney has such a variety of foods to choose from, although it’s my fault for being surprised. Of course they do, it’s Disney. Question though, are all of these from Disney restaurants or from like food stands that are just around? Again, I’ve never been to Disney so I have no idea.

  3. Wow, those sound like the taste of heaven and they look amazing. Now I know why they say Disney is the happiest place on earth! Love the pictures and the ratings that you did. I’m definitely got hungry after reading this.

  4. Trattoria al Forno at Boardwalk is one of my favorite restaurants to go to- I’ve never been disappointed. I’m going to Kona Cafe when I go to Florida in May and I’m going to have to get the smores cup while im at Poly- it looks so good! Your blogs are always fun, and I love the massive amount of pictures you always include.

  5. These all look so good! I’m also very hungry and that strawberry shortcake would be perfect right now. It seems like you had a really great trip overall and I’m glad you documented a lot of it to share with us! The pictures really bring together the whole blog.

  6. These all look so good! I am not surprised that the 50th-anniversary cupcake was underwhelming. When I was in Disney, I kept walking by it, but I could always find something that looked more appetizing. On a side note, your mentioning of the Country Bear Jamboree reminded me of a funny story. When I was in Disney, the Jamboree was my boyfriend’s absolute favorite attraction. He loved every minute of the show- and we saw it multiple times!
