1970s

David J. Kling ’74, formerly of Altoona, has been selected as the associate administrator for Homeland Security at the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.

Melvin C. McDowell ’ 75 has opened the law office of Melvin C. McDowell, Attorney at Law, at P.O. Box 93, Everett, Pennsylvania, 15537.

David ’79 and Lisa Delozier ’79 are the proud grandparents of Evelyn Nicole Edwards, who was born January 31, 2017. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. The parents are Anthony Edwards and their daughter, Camrin Edwards ’12 (Berks).

William D. “Don” Skinner ’79 is Director of Task Order & Business Development Departments, Jacobs Technology Inc. at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

1980s

Laura England ’83 began a new job as director of Bureau of Market Development for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture on September 6, 2016.

Marty Jo Irvin Stellabotte ’88 is a student at Wartburg Lutheran Theological Seminary, where she is completing her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree.

1990s

Sean Lynch ’93, of Dickerson, Maryland, recently published his first children’s book, Little Robin: Flying South for the Winter.

John Spencer ’96, ’98g was appointed the Division Head for Recreation and Parks Department in Ocala, Florida, beginning February 2017. John attended Penn State Altoona and graduated from University Park with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks Management and a master’s degree in Leisure Studies. John resides in Ocala with his wife, Susan; twins, Patrick and Cora; and daughter Molly.

Nicole Patterson ’99 and Kevin Diehl, both of Altoona, were united in marriage on October 24, 2016.

2000s

Summer Siry ’00 and Craig Tomlinson, both of Altoona, are engaged to be married. A June 24 wedding is being planned at Edith Davis Eve Memorial Chapel at Penn State Altoona.

Julene Hollingshead ’03 and Chris Weidman were united in marriage on October 14. 2016, at Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The couple resides in Philadelphia.

David A. Strouse ’03, current District Attorney of Clinton County, Pennsylvania, was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf to the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing.

Beth Showalter ’07 and Erik Gore were united in marriage on October 15 at Memorial Church of the Brethren in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania.

Kara Stefanick ’07 and Brandon Dodson ’05, of Duncansville, were united in marriage on October 14, 2016, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Jamie Baser ’09 and Marshall Post, both of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A July 1 wedding is being planned at Legion Park.

Brittney Messner ’09, of Bellwood, Pennsylvania, and Scott Winters, of Osceola Mills, are engaged to be married. A June 24 wedding is being planned at Logan Valley Presbyterian Church.

Christine Walk ’09 is the proud new grandparent of Zoeigh Nichole Venturini.

Katie Belis ’10, of Altoona, and Scott Lowry, of Westmont, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. An April 29 wedding is being planned at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellwood.

Christopher Edmiston ’10 and Angel Magno, both of Gaithersburg, Maryland, are engaged to be married. A June 24 wedding is being planned in Annapolis.

Joshua Wagner ’11 and Rachel Rossi, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A June 25 wedding is being planned.

Nicole Weyant ’11 and Jeremy McCann, both of Altoona, are engaged to be married. A June 24 wedding is being planned at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Tiffany Bryant ’12, of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, has been promoted to Technician II at P. Joseph Lehman Inc. Consulting Engineers.

Sarah Lechner ’12 and Gary Horomanski, Jr. were wed on September 24, 2016, at the Edgewater Inn in Alexandria.

Bryant Partner ’12 and Dr. Shannon Winstead, both formerly of Altoona, are engaged to be married. A fall wedding in Jamaica is being planned.

Ashley Boyer ’13 and Nicholas Diehl ’13, both of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A July 7 wedding is being planned at Whispering Hollow Estate in Alum Bank.

Adam Bettwy ’14 and Kaitlyn Lishinsky, both of Stafford, Virginia, are engaged to be married. A December 30, 2017, wedding is being planned at St.Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.

Sgt. Daniel Brandt ’14 and Emily Clancy, both of Altoona, were wed on April 29, 2017, at C. Barton McCann School of Art in Petersburg, Pennsylvania.

Abby Kreider ’14 and Noah Krehl ’12, both of Wexford, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A December 31 wedding is being planned at General Potter Farm in Spring Mills.

Katherine Speck ’14 and Jacob Lee, both of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A June 17 wedding is being planned at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Johnstown.

Kim Badorrek ’15 and Will Boger ’16 are engaged to be married. An August 12 wedding is being planned at First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
