In Penn State Altoona men’s basketball’s win over Mount Aloysius College on Feb. 8, senior guard Javon Wilson became the sixth player in team history to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career.
By the end of the season, Wilson finished his collegiate basketball career tied for third on the Lions’ all-time scoring list with 1,170 points scored during his four-year career, which spanned from 2013-17. During the 2016-17 season, Wilson scored 493 points to tie for the most points scored in a single season in team history. The senior guard was a first team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference selection, as well as a second team Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Region All-Star.
Wilson helped lead the Lions to a resurgent 2016-17 season. Penn State Altoona earned its first AMCC Tournament berth since 2009-10, and the team also earned a selection to the ECAC Division III Tournament for the first time since 2008-09. The Lions’ fourteen overall wins tied a program record, and their twelve AMCC wins were the most in team history.
Wilson is a native of Washington, D.C. and graduated from T.C. Williams High School.
