Alumna Publishes Children’s Book

As a child, Katie Christoff says she was bothered by the fact that she was taller and heavier than her classmates. But she says a conversation with her mother one day helped her realize it’s not how someone looks that matters, but rather his or her talents and qualities as well as how he or she treats others.

Christoff decided to write a children’s book about her experience to help girls who are feeling the way she once did. Beautiful You is available through Mascot Books, as well as Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Christoff graduated from Penn State Altoona in May 2019 with a B.S. in business and a minor in entrepreneurship. She was also a Sheetz Fellow. Currently she is substitute teaching at the elementary and high school levels. “I am excited to see where this Beautiful You journey takes me and am looking forward to getting feedback from the young girls who the book is meant for. When I can come up with another topic, I would love to write another book since this process has been so amazing.”
