Voluntoona 2017
On Saturday, August 19, 2017, with the help of students participating in Voluntoona, the Penn State Altoona Alumni Society fulfilled its Adopt-a-Highway commitment to the state by providing highway cleanup on the two-mile stretch of highway adjacent to the college. An annual event during Welcome Week, Voluntoona was created as a way for students to engage with local community agencies to provide a morning of volunteer service.

Achievements

Jean Young, a Penn State Altoona retiree, and her husband, Kenneth A. Young, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on June 10, 2017.

Engagements

David Pedersen Jr. ’16 and Madison Baronner are engaged to be married. An August 26 wedding is being planned at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Altoona.

Weddings

Sheran Joy Springer and Jerry Ambert Kendall were united in marriage on January 7 in the Edith Davis Eve Chapel at Penn State Altoona.
