Jamie Baser ’09 and Marshall Post, both of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A July 1 wedding is being planned at Legion Park.

Ashley Boyer ’13 and Nicholas Diehl ’13, both of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A July 7 wedding is being planned at Whispering Hollow Estate in Alum Bank.

Katherine Speck ’14 and Jacob Lee, both of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A June 17 wedding is being planned at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Johnstown.

Nicole Patterson ’99 and Kevin Diehl, both of Altoona, were united in marriage on October 24, 2016.

Julene Hollingshead ’03 and Chris Weidman were united in marriage on October 14. 2016, at Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The couple resides in Philadelphia.

In Memoriam

Saul Paikin ’48, Altoona—January 2, 2017—retired owner and operator of S. Paikin Scrap Iron and Waste Paper Co., U.S. Army veteran.

Sara Jane Kelley ’50, Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania—January 5, 2017—retired elementary education teacher.

Dr. Eugene A. Szura, Jr. ’71, Gallitzin, Pennsylvania—December 21, 2016—chiropractor, U.S. Army veteran.

Dr. David M. Parry ’86g, Altoona—January 3, 2017—assistant professor of philosophy, Penn State Altoona. For thirty years, Dr. Parry was a dedicated member of the Penn State Altoona family, teaching various courses in the Arts and Humanities, in addition to serving Penn State Altoona’s Faculty Senate as the senior Senator from the Division of Arts and Humanities. Parry also chaired the Senate’s committee on Curricular Affairs for nearly a decade.
