Message from the Director

It’s hard to believe with all of the autumn beauty around us that we are halfway through the fall semester. These are exciting times at Penn State Altoona! This month, we celebrated the dedication of the Penn Building, the newest addition to our downtown campus, and the much anticipated unveiling of the newly renovated and expanded Adler Athletic Complex, which culminated with the first-ever Varsity Athlete Alumni Reunion and a community open house.

While celebrating the growth and prosperity of our college this past month, we keep in mind our alumni, donors, and friends who have been impacted by the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. We reached out to out alumni in these areas, and I wanted to share one of the responses that we received:

“It was a difficult week here in South Florida. It is really comforting to hear from my Altoona PSU friends. My family and I (we are all PSU grads!) are all fine and helping others rebuild our community. I continue to be amazed at how many grads are in this area and how many Blue and White shirts come out when people are looking to help each other (as well as when we beat Georgia State so badly!). WE ARE!”

We are incredibly blessed to be a part of the Penn State Altoona family. The impact of your support and benevolence can be felt locally, nationally, and internationally as we continue to work together to engage, inspire, and prepare students for success!

Enjoy this All Hallows’ Eve.

For The Glory,
