Achievements

William Hoy ’75, vice president of design and construction at Shaner Hotel Group, was interviewed for an article in American Builders Quarterly, which showcased his work on the REHAU Montana Ecosmart House.

Engagements

Kelly Walter ’09 and Jarryd Burkett are engaged to be married. An August 25 wedding is planned at Gillbrook Farms in Warriors Mark.

Andrea Fochler ’10 and Zachary Scheck, both of Pittsburgh, are engaged to be married. A June 2 wedding at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, is planned.

Weddings

Christopher Tromm ’09 and TommiAnn Church ’12 were united in marriage on August 12, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.

Lauren Creppage ’10 and Nicholas Martynuska were united in marriage on May 13, 2017, at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona.

Adam ’11 and Sarah Kennedy ’11 welcomed their daughter, Madison Marie Kennedy, on July 19, 2017, in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania. She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.

J. Robert Kauffman ’52, Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania—January 26, 2018—retired, U.S. Army veteran.

James L. McCreary ’58, Lititz, Pennsylvania—January 15, 2018—electrical designer, U.S. Army veteran.

John Edmund Jameson ’59, Duncansville, Pennsylvania—February 18, 2018—retired pastor, U.S. Army veteran.

Nancy (Bachran) Frezza ’72, Altoona—January 15, 2018—retired.

Joseph W. Reasy Jr. ’73, of Dysart, Pennsylvania, passed away February 1, 2018, at the age of 71. Reasy retired as director of development at Penn State Altoona in 2003. He was born in Altoona, son of Joseph W. Reasy Sr. and the late Janet (Loose) Reasy.

Surviving are his father, of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Cathy Neal, of Altoona; a nephew, Nicholas Neal, of Phoenix; and a loving companion, Susan Broadwater, of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by his mother.

A 1964 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, Reasy attended Penn State Altoona and went on to earn his bachelor of science degree at Penn State in 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
