Meanwhile, the truth is, the only questions you ever need to consider when making decisions about your life are:
- Is this something I want to be, do, or have?
- Is this going to take me in the direction I want to go (not should go)?
- Is this going to screw over anybody else in the process?

You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life
A friend recommended this book to me, and, while it was not one of my favorite reads, it did offer up a few useful leadership tips.
Set boundaries and use your time wisely.
How you choose to spend your time reflects your priorities. Our time is not always our own, but when it is, we should spend it doing the things that matter most. Put in the time and do the work.
Set goals, but don’t worry about how you will achieve them (yet).
Figure out what you want to do, but don’t obsess about how you will achieve the goal. To be an effective leader, you must be able to adapt to changes. If you can’t adapt and remain flexible, you will struggle to achieve your goals.
If your environment doesn’t support your goals, it may be time to change your environment.
Audit your environment. If your environment, your current position, your friends, your habits, etc. don’t support your goals, you may need to make the conscious decision to remove what is impeding your progress or to make the changes necessary to move to a better environment.
