Last Passion Blog

Well,  this is the last Passion Blog!! Is it just me, or did this semester go by at the perfect speed? It was neither too fast nor too slow; it was an ideal speed.

I pray that you retained something from my Passion Blogs, and feel free to follow my TikTok to hear more about God in a fun and inviting way. I am currently not posting because I am taking a break from social media, but be on the lookout when I start posting again.

Today’s Passion Blog is going to be a freestyle almost. I am just going to go over some topics that I did not go over thoroughly.

  1. What is living for God? What is dying to your flesh?
    1. When I first heard that I needed to “DIE” to myself, it threw me off because it sounded like such a horrible thing. When in reality, it was the best decision that I have made. Dying to your flesh means that you are putting away all of your desires and recognizing God’s authority. This does not mean forgetting who you are and having no personality. No. This means that you are not treating yourself like the God in your life. Dying for your flesh also allows you to tell your flesh to take the backseat when making decisions and let God influence all of your actions.
  2. Is heaven “the goal”?
    1. I used to believe that heaven was the goal it came to my faith in Christianity. I thought that everything that I do on Earth was ultimately to get me to heaven. But when we view heaven in this way, we lose our personal relationship with God, and our faith is lost. So while heaven is our true home, it should not be the only thing we pursue. Our goal is to model what it means to be a Child of God. Being a Child of God means that you are following the instructions that God gave in the Bible.
  3. Do Christians have the right to determine whether or not someone goes to Heaven or hell?
    1. This question comes from the times whenI have heard speakers, like the Willard preacher, say that someone is going to hell for what they have done in their lives. Or even when they have told people that they are going to heaven. Determining someone’s life after Earth is something that we, as Christians, need to avoid. The simple way of explaining is by simply saying that we are NOT God.  However, to help you understand why here are two reasons we do not have the power or the knowledge to make this assumption or decision. One, it can make people afraid of God or renounce Christianity as a whole. I have heard the “you are going to hell” phrase used to scare people into following God, which is the exact opposite way of ministering. Instead, we should encourage people to follow God due to His love for us and the peace that He gives us in our lives. Second, it is way too much emotional pressure to have on yourself. Sometimes trying to get someone to heaven puts a lot of stress on you, and you start to fall into them and become smothered in sadness when they disagree with us.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving break and do great on your public controversy project. Have a blessed day, and remember that Jesus loves you.

  1. Jaxon, I have loved every post of your blog this semester. As a Christian myself, it is so encouraging to see others living out their faith in such a public way and being a light for His Kingdom. Your blogs always challenged me in the best way. Awesome job!

P.S. I also checked out your TikTok and it was great! I’ll definitely be following along when you’re back!

  2. I love this blog. I hope you are taking this same class next semester. I feel the struggle between the goal of going to heaven and not making that my sole purpose in life. I also think that determining who will go to heaven or hell is stressful. I find I am constantly worrying for people I think might go to hell and talking about God with them, which only pushes them farther away.

  3. Jax I’ve been a huge fan of your blog posts all semester. It is important for people to speak out on God’s word, and spread His gifts to others. You’re blogs have not only inspired me to become a better man of faith myself, but also to spread his word to others. Wish you best of luck moving forward!

  4. Thank you so much, Jaxon for all of your knowledge and insight into these topics. I can’t wait for you to start posting on your TikTok once again and I hope you reach a new follower goal when you log back in! Wouldn’t that be amazing? I hope you also have an amazing and safe Thanksgiving and I pray that you have a healing time away from social media.
