Topic Ideas for the “This I Believe” Podcast, Passion Blog, and Civic Issues Blog

The first idea that I have for my “This I Believe” podcast is that I believe in the importance of not taking more than you need. People are incredibly wasteful, especially when it comes to natural resources, food, and water. Many have to go without these resources and die as a result, while others have a surplus. The second idea that I have for my “This I Believe” podcast is that I believe in the importance of traveling abroad. I think that it is incredibly important to learn about other cultures, and monuments, and to see more of the world. This is something that can give you a broader perspective and change your view on life.

The first idea that I have for my passion blog is to have it centered around exercising, especially weightlifting. I love going to the gym and I think this would be a great way for me to make my blog both informational and personal. Some potential topics I could do are how to get started in the gym, designing workouts, as well as involve my current routine. The second idea that I have for my passion blog is to discuss the UEFA Champions League. This is a soccer tournament in Europe where the best European clubs compete to win it. In my first passion blog, I did a similar concept with the FIFA World Cup, so if I were to move forward with this idea, I could use similar ideas. For that reason, I am likely going to go with my first idea as it is more different.

One idea that I have for my civic issues blog is the issue surrounding heavy testing in schools, including standardized testing. Today there is such an emphasis placed on standardized testing, especially the SAT and ACT, as well as on tests within courses. I don’t believe that this is an effective way to test someone’s knowledge; it is just a test of how well they can memorize something. Another idea that I have for my civic issues blog is the need for greater access to clean drinking water. Having clean water is a necessity and people should not have to struggle to source or pay for clean drinking water. Nonetheless, this is still a major issue in society.
