If you are an avid pop culture reader you would know all about the infamous relationship between reality tb show star, Kim Kardashian and rapper, Kanye West. The two were married for years and share four kids North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm together. Last year they got a a divorce and it was made very public by Kanye posting about it on social media.
Since then Kanye has gone on many social media rampages publicly bashing Kim, her parenting, her new relationships and more. Kim is also not the only person he has bashed. Kanye has created many enemies by speaking his mind and taking things to social media.
Most recently, this week he got in fights with models Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber due to the fact that he wore a “White Lives Mater” T-shirt to Paris Fashion Week. Black vogue editor, Gabrielle Karefa-Johnson didn’t take kindly to this stunt and wrote about him calling him ” a bully and a joke.” Hadid and Bieber stood up for her and in turn faced the wrath of Kanye’s Instagram spam.
Essentially Kanye ended up taking down his posts making fun of Johnson and posted another post saying she is his siter and that they met for dinner that night and apologized for how they made each other feel. Kanye explained that he felt as if people were using Johnson for her skin color to be the point person to talk about Kanye’s expression and that didn’t sit right with him.
Kanye has made it very clear where his political beliefs lie. He is very conservative and sways heavily from the right which definitely defers from many celebrities. So, his fight with Hadid and Bieber definitely took a turn when he accused them of basically trying to be woke and say that they support the Black Lives Matter movement yet when it really comes down to it they don’t stand up for black people like himself. This is when he draws the Kardashians name back into the mix citing one of his more famous Instagram blowups where he said that the Kardashians kept him from his daughter Chicago’s birthday party and how black fathers are constantly being pushed out of their childrens lives. He used this example to state that Hadid, Bieber or really anyone besides Candace Owen, Black Republican political figure stood up for him during this time.
This is when Khloe Kardashian, sister of Kim entered the chat and commented a lengthy paragraph on his post. She basically told him that she wished Ye would stop with this narrative as he always knows where is kids are and is welcome to see them. She also mentioned that it was his idea to have separate birthday parties and when he changed his mind he was welcomed inside. She pleaded him to stop airing his issues out on social media and to stop using the Kardashians as a place where he deflect.
Many people are taking to his comments claiming that Kanye is hypocritical and plays the race card when its convenient to him. However, there are also many people that support his sentiment and claim that Kanye is a deep thinker and causes people to stop thinking in uniformed ways and to challenge their beliefs. I personally, think Kanye is a bit immature with his Instagram dumps and airing of problems so publicly. I don’t think its going to do him any favors publicly and I truly am always asking where is his publicist at? One thing I will say is that Kanye was right about one thing and that was that his t-shirt was able to steal the attention of an entire week long fashion show, which he claims says a lot about society. Its commonly said that bad attention is still attention. Curious what people think of that?
