A Week of Firsts!

As I reflect on this week I realized that I achieved many firsts, my first time doing a presentation in college, my first time mowing a lawn, and my first time being in Bellefonte! Let’s start by talking about the presentation. For my COMM100 class we were assigned to present a case study and analyze it for the whole class. I worked with my group throughout the whole week in order to get everything we needed done for it in time. We booked a study room in the library to collaborate ideas and to practice presenting. I really enjoyed how easy and convenient using the study room was, it came with a white board, a screen that you could hook up your computer to, and a round table that was easy to collaborate at. After we mastered the presentation we allowed ourselves to leave the library. We ended up presenting on Friday which went very well considering it was our first ever college presentation.

The next day was a very big one for me, I volunteered at the Graveyard in Bellefonte! I requested to be in the groundskeeping crew so when I got there I started to mow the lawn. This was a very new adventure for me, I have never mowed the lawn before so it was hard at first but then I got the hang of it. I had to go in between all of the graves and trim all of the over-grownness. After I mowed the lawn I helped trim the overgrown plants that were rooted into the grave. After lunch we got home and I took a shower immediately and then took a quick nap and continued with my Saturday.

Driving through Bellefonte was quite the experience. We ran into the former mayor of town and chatted with him for a little bit. We also saw the beautiful park with a lake running through the middle. There were many small family owned restaurants around town that looked super good. I am super excited to go back into the town of Bellefonte to try the great restaurants and walk around the park.
