Final FYE post!

As summer session is winding down I am getting more and more excited for the fall semester. This past week I have been preparing myself for the approaching semester. I am so thankful I get to stay in the same exact dorm with my same roommate for the new semester, so this means I do not have to move out any of my stuff! I emailed with my advisor to make sure my schedule was correct and ready to go for fall. Between the summer and fall semester I only have a few days home, but I am so ready to start this new big chapter in my life.

Looking back at the summer session I am so glad to have made this choice to come for the whole summer. Taking this opportunity gave me so much knowledge and trial and error that I did need before entering college. My teachers incorporated many useful resources we can use throughout the school year. Like the media center, the learning center, the library, and even the study rooms in the libraries. I also have learned how to communicate with college professors and utilize office hours in order to create a relationship with each of my professors. I volunteered with my COMM100 professor at her local cemetery which let her know that I was hardworking and willing to give back to the community. I attended office hours with my ENGL15 professor many times as I wanted to make sure all of my work was being done correctly and if there was anything I could do to improve it.

Overall summer session at PSU was the best decision I ever made. It got me ready for the fall semester and a head start to adjusting to college life! I can’t wait to explore and meet even more people in my fall semester. I hope to find lifelong friends and make a positive impact on Penn State university!
