*So my book says it delivered two days ago but my commons still does not have it, it looks like there will be on more podcast blog this week.
How do you truly achieve happiness? This is a question every person faces in their life whether or not you’re an aspiring philosopher or an astronaut, we can all agree everyone desires happiness.
In a podcast, social media influencer Emma Chamberlain talks about her opinion on how to attain happiness. Her opinion truly stuck with me which is why I wanted to share it on here. In summary, she stated that in order to achieve happiness, you must have goals you’re passionate about and can stick to for periods of time. She stressed the importance of keeping yourself busy and finding new passions to stay motivated. She also stressed about being able to stick to different goals simply just for periods of time and not feeling pressured to stick to them forever. If you get tired of a hobby, do not be afraid to drop it and try something new. If you force yourself to keep doing something when you are bored of it you will just lose motivation and happiness. Linked below I have Emma’s podcast so be sure to give it a listen after reading this blog!

I believe an important factor of happiness to always remember is that it cannot be permanent. Happiness has another emotion that goes hand in hand, which is sadness. Where ever one may find happiness, sadness is also right around the corner. I believe that life is simply a cycle of switching between the emotions and what you should truly desire is achieving a lifestyle where you are sad for the least amount of time possible. Aspiring for a lifestyle where you are permanently happy is an unrealistic goal that will make you feel astray when facing conflict and emotions that everyone faces all throughout their life.
I found Emma Chamberlain’s perspective on how to achieve happiness in general very interesting and agreed with it completely. I never necessarily thought about what it is that makes me happy or ever tried to put it into words. Her words pointed out to me how important having goals were in my life. They made me realize how much we need them to stay motivated and remove the feeling of emptiness out of our lives. Some goals that I currently have are doing well in school and staying active by working out as much as I can. These goals keep me busy and motivated on a daily basis. Without having goals like these, I would feel worthless with my life and have no direction on what I was doing.
Goals are crucial to living a life you will love. A life without goals is like an ice skate without a blade. It would no longer have a purpose and feel completely worthless. Having no goals would lead to a life of unhappiness. I encourage anyone reading to sit down and write some goals you either already have or desire to have in your life. What makes you happy? Never give up and always stay motivated.

Such a good post! Happiness is definitely a subjective thing, but something that most can agree on is that it means doing things that make you feel good and feel successful. Setting small goals with rewards and having motivation are great, and I feel like this is a small thing that we can all implement in our lives! I like that you emphasized that goals and hobbies don’t need to be permanent! So important.

I agree with the concept that we, as humans, achieve happiness while pursuing our most treasured passions. However, I disagree with Ms. Chamberlain’s claim that we must fill our life with ever-growing passions. By doing so, we eliminate the ability to commit ourselves to any one significant achievement. Granted, I could be overexaggerating.

I love Emma’s podcast! This is very important. Happiness is different for each person. I think we are all in the pursuit of happiness, but everyone pursues it in different ways. I think goals and hobbies are a good way to achieve this, but we have to continuously keep adapting our goals. This was a great post!

Happiness. What a complicated thing. It’s interesting to see other people’s perspectives on things that are so complex. I think Emma’s right. There is no reason to stick with a goal because it can change depending on what happens in your life.

I think that this is a really good question, can we achieve true happiness? I think that it is so important to set goals for ourselves. I think that achieving our goals makes us truly happy. I love Emma Chamberlain’s podcasts and so I really liked reading what you had to think about it. I really think the point about happiness not being permanent is really good, because our state of mind is constantly fluctuating! Great post!
