About Me

Juan F Garceran was born in Cartagena (Murcia, España). After spending most part of his academic career in Spain (including a BA in Education) and working in two different educative institutions as a teacher, Juan moved to the US and started a MA in Liberal Arts at Dartmouth College. During this time, besides getting familiarized with fields such as sociology and psychology, Mr. Garceran focused on topics related to Spanish history, philosophy, culture, and art through the development of his thesis based on 18th century Spanish Enlightenment in relation to Goya’s artwork. In addition, Juan has worked at almost every level of Spanish instruction, from kindergarten to college. Currently, Mr. Garceran has started as a first year PhD student at Penn State University, where he would like to further develop his research interests and teaching skills.
