What is July 4th?

Recently, America has just celebrated another “Fourth of July”; little do Americans know what they are celebrating. July fourth is considered a holiday because of America gaining independence from Great Britain through the Declaration of Independence. July 4, 1776  is when America essentially was created. When people celebrate this holiday they only see the pathos of this situation. They think about patriotism and going to the beach for the holiday. They’re hooked on the emotion of what the holiday has come to be and that is mainly just about partying and dressing in red, white, and blue. This holiday is more about the appeal of logos. The facts are what Americans should be concerned about. The fact that America earned its independence in 1776, there was a total of thirteen colonies, and America started celebrating “Fourth of July” about fifteen to twenty years after the Declaration was signed. Americans have no idea about the facts of the holiday or why they are even celebrating our independence. Great Britain was apart of a monarchy in 1776 and that is why America wanted to earn its freedom. America did not want to be governed by a king. The Founding Fathers wanted a better type of government for the American people and so they set out to form new republican governments. People should be remembering how much work it took to gain independence from Great Britain. As the people of America celebrate “Fourth of July” they should be remembering why they are celebrating that day in history. So that’s why we all celebrate “Fourth of July” or Independence Day.
