I received my B.S. in Food Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 2018. As an undergraduate researcher, I worked in the labs of Dr. Hassan Gourama and Dr. Edward Dudley. In the Gourama lab, I tested the effect of ultraviolet light on fungi on dry surfaces. In the Dudley lab, I worked to quantify the frequency in which non-pathogenic E. coli increase Shiga toxin production of STEC. I also led a group of undergraduate researchers on a project in partnership with the Penn State E. coli Reference Center and the FDA. In 2023 I graduated from Penn State’s Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Biosciences graduate Ph.D. program with a concentration in Immunology and Infectious Disease. My interests in the Jose Lab include work in high level containment, viral maturation, and host response. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports; softball and just about anything else. I also enjoy skiing and am a frequent traveler. Publications |
