Go Nuts 4 Coconuts [oil!!!!]

No matter the time of day, month, or year, my skin is most likely dry. In order to stop this, I rely on two products only: Aveeno’s daily moisturizing lotion and coconut oil. Both of these amazing inventions can be found in any drug store, department store, or supermarket.

Coconut oil is great for any part of my body. I use it on my skin all over my body, my hair and eyelashes, my nails, and my teeth. If I am just putting it on my skin, I use it like lotion after I shower and lather it on until my skin soaks most of it up. For my hair, I put some on my finger tips, apply it to my scalp and comb it down. I do this an hour or so before I shower because leaving it on can make my hair appear greasy but nonetheless, it’s so moisturizing. My favorite spot to apply coconut oil, though, is my eyelashes. I swear it makes them grow an inch overnight… I apply it by taking an old mascara wand that I have cleaned and dunk it into the jar of coconut oil to apply in the same way I would mascara. It is very difficult to get all the spots with my finger, and I end up getting some of it in my eye, so a mascara wand is a great solution because it does not get all over and hits all my lashes smoothly. I do this right before I go to sleep, and usually throughout the night it will rub off. Similarly, I apply some to my teeth by taking an old toothbrush and let it sit for ten minutes or so. Then, I rinse it out and brush my teeth with normal toothpaste. It whitens my teeth and does not taste as bad as hydrogen peroxide and baking soda which is what I also use. I always have a jar of coconut oil in my room and bathroom because in my opinion, I can never overuse it. If it’s hot though, I sometimes put it in the refrigerator for a little bit so it’s not too liquidy. I do not use one brand in particular… whatever is cheapest. No matter what, it smells so good and does wonders!!!Image result for aveeno daily moisturizing lotion

I use Aveeno’s daily moisturizing lotion at least three times a day (much more often than coconut oil). It’s the only lotion I use for my face because it’s very sensitive and usually the only lotion I use for the rest of my body. I like it a lot because its fragrance free and so soothing to my (annoyingly dry :/) skin. I recommend it to all my friends and family members and haven’t heard a bad review yet!

If you or someone you know suffers from dry skin like me and doesn’t know what to do, I hope these two things help.

Stay Healthie!

I feel like oils in general are so helpful for the body! I haven’t used coconut as much, but I’m a big fan of olive oil. It’s great for eyelashes as well. I use a mascara brush for it like you do with the coconut oil. One of my favorite thing to do is a hot oil treatment for my hair when I heat up some oil in the microwave, spread it throughout my hair, and wrap it up for several hours. Later when I wash my hair it comes out super soft and healthy. It can help mend split ends, strengthen hair, and improve elasticity. There are so many health benefits fro these natural products, so I think it’s great that you’re bringing attention to them.
