Green Bay, Wisconsin
This week we’re moving up north to Green Bay Wisconsin. Green Bay is located in the northern part of Wisconsin right along Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes.
If you’re a sports fan, Green Bay is definitely the place for you. As the home of the Green Bay Packers, the city is right in the middle of the action and overall most commonly known for cheese, beer, and the packers. Don’t worry if you’re not that into sports, there are many other things to indulge in as well. Being on the water, Green Bay has a lot of beautiful scenery and outdoor adventures to pursue. Some of the most popular places include the Botanical Gardens, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Heritage Hill State Historical Park, and Joannes Park. Additionally, if you’re looking for something for the kids, there is an abundance of children-friendly activities to keep them entertained such as the Green Bay Children’s Museum or Green Bay Fear Haunted House!
One of the other things that make Green Bay so appealing is its low cost of living. Green Bay’s cost of living index puts it at 82.3, meaning that in order to pursue a lifestyle that typically costs $100,000 a year, it would only cost you $82,300. Housing itself is super cheap, with the average price being around $146,000. For this reason, Green Bay would be an ideal location for graduating college students who are typically working with lower salaries. Another reason this location may appeal to them is because of the large job market and low unemployment rate (3.7%).
One thing to keep in mind however is that Green Bay may not be for everyone because of the harsh winters. In fact, Green Bay averages 48 inches of snow each year. However, if you can get past the freezing winters, Green Bay has beautiful summers that don’t typically get too hot.

Green Bay seems like a wonderful place to live, but I’m looking to get out of the cold. Penn State winters are harsh enough, I’m not sure how much more cold weather I can withstand. But it does seem like the perfect place to live right after college when it comes to costs of living. The third house that you list is fairly large and only costs $525,000 which is significantly lower than if it was located in any other state, for instance California. Not my favorite place that you’ve posted about, however it is still really beautiful!
