A Check In!!

It has officially been a month since moving into State College! When I thought about what I wanted my blog posts to include, I knew that I wanted it to be like a journal for me to write down my thoughts or anything that I wanted to talk about. I know what you’re thinking “Katy what possibly could be going through your head college is just so fun right?” While this is true, yes, it is also true that no one told me how different college really is than high school or my old life. I had to start looking for apartments, ALL BY MYSELF. In other words, my mom is really just throwing me into the wolves and saying yes go find somewhere to live next year but make sure you do it quickly! So, this has been stressing me out a lot. I also had my first month of exams and as a bio major you can just guess how that went. I learned though that I am really not going to always get the grades that I want, and that I need to fail. What is the meaning of 'throw me to the wolves I will return with a pack'? - Quora

I also have still been really struggling with my eating schedule. Som days I will eat three full meals and it will be fine, but other days I find myself not finding the time to then I do not even realize it until the end of the day. I searched ways to balance my eating and find a schedule and I found a really good source.Healthy Eating Plate | The Nutrition Source | Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

This is a food plate that has balanced eating suggestions from the Harvard School of Public Health. I have recently been trying to implement this into my diet because I find myself not eating enough of a certain food group.

So far we have talked about living struggles and me being dramatic saying I do not have time to eat lol. Now we can talk about something actually interesting. The football games! I have been to a few before coming here, but the student section is something else. The things I have seen only from going to one game is extremely questionable. I will admit I had so so much fun and I love football so they are just a great time. I think forward to the future sometimes when hopefully one day I will be one of the parents that come up to tailgate on the weekends just like I am a kid again. Maybe not every game because we can’t get too carried away. I have been going to different tailgates and I have to say, the best pregame snack has been the burgers and hotdogs. I do not know why but the game day meats always hit different. I can’t wait for more football games to come I just wish it was getting warmer not colder.

I do not know why it will not let me paste this picture, but here is a pic of my fiend almost getting hit by a bus at the tailgate!

That is pretty much it for this week, just my weekly thoughts in a random order, but hope you enjoyed!
