I have had a passion for health, food and fitness for as long as I can remember. From growing up playing softball for ten years to baking healthy recipes for my family during the holidays, I have loved staying active and learning about nutrition for the entirety of my adolescent and adult life. This passion has driven me to study Food Science and become a competitive powerlifter at Penn State University.
What I have learned as an athlete has shaped me personally and professionally. It is necessary to be consistent, focused, and determined as an athlete, student, and professional. Since I strive to excel in all areas, I have adapted these qualities by taking my responsibilities as a student and powerlifter seriously. I am hardworking, passionate, and always looking to be challenged in and out of the gym.
Successful athletes often pay close attention to food and nutrition, as it is an important component in fueling workouts. Because of this, along with my general love for food, I decided to major in Food Science. I enjoy learning about how certain foods affect the human body and what is involved in the food development/production process.
