One benefit of  belonging to a large university like Penn State is having access to University Libraries which offers students, faculty, and staff access to world-class academic resources.

When searching the University Libraries catalog, search using title, author, or keywords or even try using the advance search methods available in the catalog. Electronic resources are visible along with print materials in the results list. Use I Want it to request print items from our library or another Penn State University libraries.

To place a hold and borrow the item from another campus, click the I Want It button located in the entry.  Follow the directions for placing a hold with your account.

It takes a few days for I want it materials to arrive from other Penn State campus libraries. When materials arrive, you will receive an email notice.

Due to COVID guidelines, materials must be quarantined for 3 days before being checked out.

For Dickinson Law materials, during COVID, the protocol for borrowing books from our closed stacks is to use I Want It to request the items. Once the materials have been retrieved from our  stacks, you may borrow them immediately after receiving the notification.

If the title you are seeking is either not available or accessible from catalog, you must request the item through Interlibrary loan or ILL. The Interlibrary Loan Services page provides links to create an ILL account, ILL FAQs as well as direct links for locating materials. From this page you are able to link directly to other sources from which you may borrow materials including PALCI E-ZBorrow, Uborrow and OCLC Worldcat. Since these materials will come from external sites, using these options will take more time compared to I Want It requests.

For contactless returns on campus, there is a book return receptacle on the the West South Street side of the building. The receptacle is checked daily during library business hours.
