Digital Access Card
For anyone without a CCLS library card, the Cumberland County Library System is providing the Digital Access Card, which offers an array of online services that can be accessed during the COVID-19 shutdown. This card has the following specifications: it is temporary and will expire 30 days after Cumberland County libraries reopen; get access to online services, including downloadable ebooks and eaudiobooks; and, it cannot access Kanopy, CCLS’s online streaming video platform. Anyone who already has an account with the county library system does not need to re-apply.

Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission’s Online Collection
Although not technically a virtual tour or exhibit, Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission’s online collection of Pennsylvania historical objects, archaeological artifacts, and natural history specimens is the largest in the Commonwealth focused exclusively on the heritage of Pennsylvania, covering the fields of art, history, archaeology, geology, paleontology and natural history.
The Mütter Museum Online Exhibitions
The Mütter Museum, part of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, displays its beautifully preserved collections of anatomical specimens, models, and medical instruments in a nineteenth-century “cabinet museum” setting. The goal of the Museum is to help visitors understand the mysteries and beauty of the human body and appreciate the history of diagnosis and treatment of disease. One of its online exhibits closely related to the current global crisis is History of Vaccines, the College’s award-winning website that provides in-depth information on the development, use, and delivery of vaccines within a historical context.
U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center Exhibits
The U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center in Carlisle provides online access to its current and past exhibits, both outdoor and indoor. Included are the exhibits “A Call to Arms”, “Soldier Experience Gallery”, and “Courage, Commitment, and Fear”.
U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center Lectures
The USAHEC sponsors a monthly and a quarterly military history lecture series, as well as many smaller, individual lectures. Included are the “Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings in Military History”, “Perspectives in Military History Lecture Series”, and “Discussions on Military History Roundtable”.

As a way to support its customers during the coronavirus pandemic, Penn State Extension is offering its library of online courses at no cost through April.
Hogwarts Digital Escape Room
Calling all Harry Potter fans!! Through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Library Association and PA Forward, Peters Township Public Library in McMurray, PA, prepared a tutorial to walk viewers through the steps to create a virtual escape room using Google Forms. The Hogwarts Digital Escape Room is suitable for all ages. Taking about 15 minutes to play, the game draws on math and critical thinking skills to solve 3 puzzles.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s landmark architecture, including Fallingwater, is on display. Each Thursday, beginning on April 2 at 1 p.m. Eastern, a participating site will share a short video tour of another site via social media. These tours will help each site’s social media followers discover and experience new places, and raise public awareness for all of these important landmarks.
Victory Garden Reinvented! Webinar Series
During the current pandemic. Penn State Extension educators and Master Gardeners will be providing up-to-date, research-based information on best practices for growing vegetables in containers, raised beds, and in-ground beds. This eight-week webinar series will be held on Tuesdays, beginning April 14 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The webinars are free to attend, but you will need to register online to receive the links for the live webinars. The sessions will be recorded and will be available on the Penn State Extension website.
