Prospective graduate students

The lab is currently on the lookout for bright, motivated, enthusiastic, personable graduate students with interests in evolutionary biology and disease ecology.  Research in my lab combines empirical and theoretical approaches, meaning that students should be eager to learn and apply both experimental and quantitative tools. Although daunting, this approach can be incredibly rewarding, by allowing a single researcher to lead projects to discover biological patterns, identify the mechanistic causes of these patterns, and analyze the consequences of potential interventions.  I have several research projects in mind for future students, but part of the training process is learning to be an independent thinker, and so I expect all students in my lab to also expand on these research ideas. My expectation is that students will lead their own research projects, present the findings of these projects at national and international conferences, and publish their research in top scientific journals.

If the above description interests you, please send a CV or resume to Dave Kennedy, along with a few sentences describing who you are and why you are interested in potentially joining the Kennedy lab.
