The Illuminati

In current culture, secret societes are widely fantasized and speculated about. At the center of the fascination lies the Illuminati. Adam Weishaupt, a German philosopher, formed the organization in Bavaria during 1776 and called it “The Order of the Illuminati.” He was inspired by the freemasons and wanted to gather a group of people with similar beliefs. The group held an anti-religious philosophy that believed in self-improvement, self-knowledge, social reform, and free thought. The Illuminati’s extremely radical beliefs against the Church’s teachings led to getting banned after spreading to France. Although the history of the organization is very much real, there are various theories about its modern day existence.

Conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati never really ended and is privately working for the New World Order (NWO). The NWO is conspiring for a totalitarian government, complete power of the world in the hands of Illuminati members. The organization was believed to be connected to the anti-christ, therefore Illuminati members are viewed as satanists. It is believed they’re responsible for the French Revolution, communist manifesto, and the creation of the federal reserve under the ruling of Satan in attempt to complete the NWO. Donald Marshall’s theory states the illuminati has killed and replaced celebrities with identical clones to brainwash/manipulate society. The “proof” is odd video footage of celebrities zoning out and making unusual, blank faces. The clones are believed to have a trigger sequence programmed in their brains that elicits a specific response when activated. Not everyone agrees that celebrities have been replaced with clones, but many do believe that celebrities play a role in the secret society.

Today, various celebrities are believed to be apart of the organization based on questionable “evidence” accumulated. Celebrities like Beyonce, Tom Hanks, and Donald Trump have been accused of secretly being members. For obvious reasons, many have repeatedly denied any association, but people continue to speculate certain behaviors they believe tell otherwise. Theorists believe that Beyonce’s daughter’s name, “Blue Ivy”, stands for “Born Living Under Evil Illuminati’s Very Youngest,” it’s a stretch yet a popular opinion among believers. But there’s more, since Beyonce seemingly never ages people believe that is also connected to her participation in the organization because it seems unnatural. Also, after Tom Hanks was diagnosed with the coronavirus, he has been accused of being assistance to perpetuate the “coronavirus hoax.” President Trump has been seen doing the hand signs of devil worshippers, the v-shaped hand signal, during speeches and interviews. It adds entertainment to the theory to say the least but how far fetched are these beliefs really?

  1. You did a really good job of summing up the whole theory in only about 400 words. The examples you gave really help in understanding the theory (although most of them are very far-fetched). I also really appreciated how you gave actual historical evidence rather than only talking about the theory.

  2. I really like how you included the history behind the theory because I feel like most people don’t actually know the history.
