Learning Design Approach and Processes

My current approach has been inspired by many existing methods from the field of Instructional Systems Design and beyond.

I am currently working on developing a Guide for Learning Designers here at the College of Information Sciences and Technology. It is a project that will allow designers to operate more consistently and collaborate more effectively. The Guide is a living document that includes our best practices, established and innovative approaches, and currently used procedures. One major component is the section titled “Course Lifecycle” where we organize our essential information into the following phases:

1. Planning
2. Design
3. Development
4. Delivery
5. Maintenance
6. Assessment

I am interested in sharing an collaborating with others. Eventually, I would like to benchmark our practices and procedures with other design units across the University and elsewhere.
