So you got me, I’m not the notorious Johnny from The Shining. I’m actually Sara Grace from your Rhetoric and Civic Life class, and for my Passion Blog, I immediately knew that I wanted to do something with movies.
As a naturally introverted person, I spent many Friday nights in my basement rather than going out. Therefore, over the years, I have acquired a vast index of movies in a substantial array of genres. Movies were my safety blanket, my escape, and my stress reliever. There is a movie for every occasion.
However, there is no Declaration of Independence in movies, so they most certainly are not equal. While some movies are epic films, others do not quite make the cut of worthy of being watched. Humans have a relatively short life, and movies, if you’re not careful, can fill up a large fraction of your life. So, for my blog, I would like to put out my recommendations and critiques on what movies I think are worth two hours of your life, and frankly, which ones you might want to skip.
In my blog, I will provide a short summary of the movie (don’t worry I won’t spoil it). I will also rate this movie on a scale of 1-10 stars in various categories. I will also critique the movie’s choice of acting, sets, props, special effects, and other stylistic choices I feel were either particularly good or bad. If I’m feeling super amazing, I might even throw in a couple fun facts about the production of the movie.
And now, as I end my first blog post, I will give you my first piece of advice as an avid movie watcher; if it has Emma Watson in it, IT IS WORTHY OF BEING WATCHED! ☺︎
