Wow had so much nostalgia reading this post! This was one of my favorite stories and movies as a kid. I remember hiding in my Mimi’s wardrobe with my cousins and pretending we found a secret passage to Narnia. Now I get to re-live my childhood memories when I watch this movie with my 7-year-old daughter Gabriella. Great read! – Lauren Griffith
Ugh, now I want to watch The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe! One of my absolute favorites as a kid, my family loved watching that one with me.
I actually think C.S. Lewis made the biblical references in his writing quite obvious; he was a very devout convert and wanted to make it known. The similarities to Christian mythology in Narnia aren’t exactly subtle–as you pointed out, haha! Regardless, I (and many others, regardless of religion) always loved Narnia all the same. I’ll never forget watching the first time Lucy steps into the wardrobe and walks into the snow. Sigh, now I have to go rewatch!
