WWII Express Volunteer Project
As a senior project, I organized, a trip for 20 World War II veterans to visit Washington, DC. This project allowed me to improve my public speaking, organization, and communication skills. My friend Kevin Ackley and I had to fund raise, advertise, and plan the entire trip. Over a one year period we raised over $4,500 and, with the help of many members of our community, created an unforgettable day for the veterans and their families. Videos below summarize the day.

Backyard Firework & Lighting Display
In the summer of 2013 and 2014, I created a small scale backyard firework display for my family and friends. Instead of lighting the fireworks by hand, I invested in Cobra firing modules with a scripted remote system. This allowed me to create and choreograph the displays with precision timing to music prior to the show. A difficult part of making choreographed shows with consumer grade fireworks is getting the timing to actually match up. There are many inconsistencies in fuse timing with some consumer fireworks but I hope to someday acquire and ATF firework permit so I can further build on this hobby. In addition to the fireworks, I used my DJ equipment to provide the soundtrack and lighting effects. I hope to do more displays in the future as time and funds permit.

UPMC Advertisement
As part of my sister Chelsey Williams’s Graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh, she was assigned to create a short advertisement based on her Audiology program. She was instructed to bring attention to the possible courses of action that nurses around the region should take if they notice a patient having prolonged hearing problems. Chelsey was in charge of producing the script and conducting research on essential content. My job was to create the visuals for the project and narrate.

History of Public Controversy Project
For this assignment, we were assigned a small group and we were instructed to create a 7-10-minute video that explores, depicts, and makes an argument about the history of a controversy. The main goal of the project was to enrich viewers’ understanding of the history of the Pornographic industry by presenting new information about it in a lively, compelling, and organized way.
In a 7-10 page paper, we were told to identify, discuss, and analyze a “paradigm shift.” In addition to recognizing a certain kind of change and analyzing its potential meanings, we were asked to analyze it in terms of where our culture is heading and how we have come to view or value certain things. I chose to do my research on the topic of space exploration.
Passion Blog | Civic Issue Blog
As part of our coursework in RCL, we were required to write a passion blog bi weekly on a topic of our choice as well as a civic issue blog. I chose to write my passion blog about Space and my civic Issue blog about whether or not we should explore space.
