Besides going out in nature or driving my car, music really has been my savior during this quarantine. But, when it is announced that this quarantine is finally over, well, that my friends, will be music to my ears. Until then, we must focus on the music surrounding us in our daily lives.
♥
The first time I woke up in my bed back in my hometown, I had forgotten the beauty of the sounds of the world waking up. Birds chirping outside of my window, sitting on branches creaking in the wind, arouse me out of my slumber. I hear my mother downstairs, letting my dog outside while she makes her cup of coffee. My brother playing video games in the room next to mine, trying to be as quiet as possible as to not wake me up while he’s playing GTA V. I check my phone and see my Snapchat notifications, missed texts from my friends on the east coast, and the quiet ping of new emails (always the damn Penn State emails that I cannot seem to unsubscribe from!!).
In terms of literal music, I have been listening to a great deal of new music on Spotify. I have made it my mission to go through my entire Discover Weekly playlist and add the new songs to existing playlists that I have. The playlists that I have been listening to the most these last few weeks are all made by me, except for the first one:
- Beef Flo Mix Radio – this is a radio station based off of the song “Beef Flo Mix” by rapper Flo Milli; this is a good playlist if you like TikTok songs haha
- alt girl chill time – I made this playlist for when I am trying to chill but I also want to be doing something like cleaning my room or buying things online; it is also good to play around a bonfire (stay 6 ft. apart though!)
- comfy cozy – this is my sleepy playlist for when I’m ready to just chillll out
- let’s go out!! – this is a combination of my pregame/workout playlist so there are some BANGERS on here if you are trying to get hyped
Music has the ability to bring us into any mood we want. I have been utilizing music during this time to really come to terms with the crazy situation we are all dealing with right now. I hope you are all doing okay and I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to check out my other playlists too. 🙂
