When gay marriage was legalized in the US by the Supreme Court in 2015, people in the LGBT community were ecstatic at the progress our country was finally making after so many years of fighting for rights; it seemed like the message that had been implemented in advertisements throughout the last few years, the push for a more inclusive space for everyone, was finally making some headway. The saying “Love is love” has continued to be somewhat successful in catalyzing the fight for human rights, with some recent setbacks due to our current conservative governmental administration.
