The Finale

Whether it comes to balance, nutrition, exercise, and more, there has been so many topics discussed throughout this blog. As it comes to a close, I want to summarize the most important takeaways from this blog, and why they are so important. Before this blog, I never realized just how important being balanced really is.

The Basics of A Balanced Healthy Lifestyle - 6D of Health

One of the first things discussed on this blog was balance. Everyday Health states, “Everyone longs to be healthy and happy. After all, what’s the point in working hard toward a long and healthy life if you can’t enjoy it? While focusing on a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating right is great for your body, balanced living means protecting your mental and emotional health, too. And stress reduction needs to be at the top of your to-do list.” As a society, this is something that everyone can improve on. We must stay balanced not only for our physical health, but also our mental and emotional health, which are just as important.

Next, the topic of nutrition was discussed. The World Health Organization states, “A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industrially produced trans-fats, are essential for healthy diet.” With a healthy diet, this can greatly help to live a balanced lifestyle to the fullest. If we do not have a balanced diet, this leads to do more harm than good in the end.

After discussing nutrition, the topic of exercise was discussed. A large portion of exercise was focused on whether one form of exercise was better than another. However, the National Institute on Aging states, “Most people tend to focus on one type of exercise or activity and think they’re doing enough. Research has shown that it’s important to get all four types of exercise: endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. Each one has different benefits. Doing one kind also can improve your ability to do the others, and variety helps reduce boredom and risk of injury. No matter your age, you can find activities that meet your fitness level and needs!” With this information, we can once again remember that all forms of exercise will benefit us.

Overall, exercise and nutrition are some of the hardest things in life to balance. Personally, I know that I have experienced the excessiveness of both sides (both exercise and nutrition,) but yet have found that life is most enjoyable when I have a blend of both, and a balanced lifestyle. Without a balanced lifestyle, it is so hard to find not only what makes you happy, but also it is difficult to bond with others. When we are so focused on ourselves and what is impacting us, it is easy to disregard our surroundings. In the end, there is nothing better than living a balanced lifestyle as it leads to a happier and more fulfilled life. While it can be hard sometimes, it is important to remember that in the end, it will make us so much happier. Next time you struggle to find balance, turn to this blog!
