Andrea Hardy, a registered dietitian on the Nutrition Blog Network website has caught my eye with her blog. I was looking through many blogs and many of the titles did not seem interesting to me. The first thing I noticed when finding a blog was the main title for the blog. Andrea’s caught my eye first because her top title is “but first, let’s eat.” This quote is a funny, yet a serious quote that is used plenty. Once I clicked on the link, I came to her actual blog. The design and layout is more of a modern type blog with bigger font. The design has colored font that the reader will attract too with the titles to her blogs, and the titles have humor added to them and make the reader want to read more about the actual blog itself. Her blog not only includes healthy and yummy recipes, but also: healthy eating, food intolerances, and funny posts about nutrition and news about today’s world dealing with nutrition and food. She includes an About section, and even a counseling service section for people in need of help. Her information is not only accurate, but very helpful. When reading her blog, it is easy to read and many people can relate to her topics whether they are interested in nutrition or not. Some blogs talk about meal planning and how to spice up your meals to make it easy for the individual. She talks about several different blogs about breakfast and more easy ways to make sure you’re not only over eating during breakfast, but you are finding simple things that can be eaten as well. Her recipes have pictures also that are fresh and not a drab, everyday type of food. Andrea Hardy uses her words well when she pulls in the reader for her blog. She makes jokes, ask questions, and is honest in her titled blogs. For example, she talks about Beyonce teasing her fans about going on vegan diet; Another blog title she uses is “Friday Funnies: How to Become Gluten Intolerant.” This is a humorous topic because so many people today try to go gluten free, think they have a gluten allergy, or even try to go gluten because it is a healthier “route.” Andrea Hardy’s work is newer than most, she’s only been blogging since December of 2014; however her work can touch most people because she touches on an individual as a whole and positive body image. In my own blog I would definitely love to include humor, and also positive body image. Humor in her blog makes it easy to read and makes me feel like she personally understands what I have went through with dietary issues. I also like how she includes fun, and stand out pictures to each of her blogs including certain foods that would catch a reader’s eye; even if they aren’t interested in the article itself they might want to read it because of the funny title, and the picture.
