KSEA Central Pennsylvania Chapter held a event, “2015 Fall Membership Drive & Mentoring Program” on the 3rd of September, Thursday at 6:00 pm in Room 210, IST Building. It turned out to be successful. 33 people participated in our event, which is 1.5 times more than the last year. Also, more than 17 people (about 50% of participants) joined a new KSEA membership or renewed their membership through this event.
In the event, we began with a brief introduction to KSEA and our plans for the exciting upcoming year along with delicious dinner. We also had an icebreaking opportunity through random speed dating! One of the goals of KSEA Central PA Chapter is to provide valuable academic, social, and business networking opportunity via Professor-Student, Graduate-Undergraduate mentoring, which is highlighted in the picture below with Prof. Kim from the Department of Chemical Engineering. The attendees of the membership drive had opportunities to draw raffles, which gifts was Amazon.com gift cards. After the membership drive, we promoted even more cozier networking via after-tea-time.
We are looking forward to new/renewed KSEA members’ active participation in the following events of our chapter!
Our next event is the 4th Monthly Multidisciplinary Seminar on Thursday, September 17th, 7-8 pm at IST 210. 🙂
