  • SEED (Scientists and Engineers Early-Career Development) Workshop

    • The goal of the SEED is to provide a professional career development service, which is consistent, systematic, and practically useful for junior Korean-American scientists and engineers ranging from postdoctoral researchers (or graduate students whose defense is scheduled before June 30, 2016) to early career professionals.
    • The program will provide:
      • a workshop on grant proposal writing for postdoctoral researchers and junior faculty members,
      • information on funding opportunities within US, US-Korea collaboration, and other international opportunities,
      • a career workshop that focuses on the job application process, tenure, and promotion,
      • team work in the modern work place, and
      • the development of supporting and mentoring systems.
    • Financial Support for SEED 2015 at Washington DC
      • Travel support: Airfare up to $300 or driving mileage ($0.50/mile) up to $300
      • Hotel accommodation: One night (Saturday, Dec 5th) at Tysons Corner Marriott (8028 Leesburg Pike, Tysons Corner, VA 22182) with another attendee (shared room)
      • Meals: Lunch and dinner on Saturday, Dec 5th, and breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 6th

    • UKC is US-Korea Conference on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship, in which many scientists and engineers in the United States and Korea gather together, share their knowledge, and network each other.
