Synopsis

Lynda is a brave, 9 year old Latino girl who dresses like a super hero and rides her purple bike around her neighborhood to stand up to bullies and stand up for those who are being bullied. In this episode, a boy gets punched on the playground because he is different. Her character’s name is a nod to Linda Stein but the spelling comes from one of my wife’s best friends, Lynda Garcia. Lynda was an attorney for the ACLU and now serves as policing campaign director for The Leadership Conference, the nation’s premier civil and human rights coalition.  The bike and super hero aspects come directly from Stein’s 2017 sculpture, Closet with Bicycle 890.  The story is told from the Lynda character’s perspective through her own drawings in her notebook.

I gave Twine a go.  It’s a bit clumsy and my coding skills are limited but I did manage to get a story game started.  With more time and attention, I’m sure I could bring the adventures of Lynda to life.
