What am I not?
I am not conventional.
Being outside of the box is just another boundary.
So what made me who I am?
The Beginning
I always read books as a kid, so learning new things and ideas has always been ingrained in me. Though I was quiet and shy, I was constantly aware of those around me and the books I hid my nose in. Being in a state of constantly learning means that I am always open to learning more in future experiences, and reading and writing keeps me in this mindset, so it has become a treasured part of my life.
The Education
I am an English major with a Professional Writing minor. As I have traveled through the college environment, I have found that I love thinking critically and analyzing anything that is put in front of me. I like being pushed to my limit when it comes to writing, but I also like reaching and going beyond points that are outside of the box. When given a limit, I will try to be as creative as possible and flip it around—giving a new perspective. Analyzing and working with abstract puzzles has guided me to tackling the constant pursuit of knowledge that comes with library science. I also make my own puzzles to solve through creative pieces I write, so my mind is always moving and searching out for the vibrant experiences in life.
As someone who loves books and the pen, my love for reading and writing fiction reflects my interest in creative thought and creation of new worlds and ideas. I am always acquiring new mindsets and insight into different experiences, so it makes me well-rounded in all forms of thought. I am always willing to hone in on my craft and make it better, while also getting my hands on anything new and old in the world of books in order to broaden my horizons. I hope to keep my passions in my work as I pursue the careers in librarianship, and this may take the form of being at the library during the day and writing my books at night. A dreamer never rests while there is work to be done.
The Outcome
I want to give my life meaning and pursue what I envision as my dreams. Going to college means thinking of the future, but I’m also trying to fit in what I would like to do for the rest of my life: be creative. Considering that I like to read, write, draw, and have close, deep relationships with those I care about, I have to find a place that lets me have outlets to pursue those things. With this in mind, I try to balance my life with work and play, and as I navigate the path of life, I plan to keep my education and my passions close and balanced while making the best of everything that comes my way.
