Objective:
Educate about and promote best practices for mentoring tenure and non-tenure track faculty at all ranks– from junior to mid-career as well as senior faculty who wish to build leadership skill.
Proposed procedure:
We have been awarded a grant from EOPC with funds to host a workshop with external speakers in SP22. We need leaders who are passionate about faculty mentoring to help plan and execute these events to the benefit of our community. We aim to address various aspects of mentoring, to make the community aware of available resources and to discuss both including and accounting for mentoring in our promotional policies and practices. The symposium will be open to the entire PSU community. The grant includes plans to assess impact – particularly on department heads.
We are seeking interested faculty to form the Organizing Committee.
