Who is eligible for admission to CTF?
Penn State faculty, inclusive of tenure line, research, teaching, libraries, clinical, etc, of any rank and from any campus.

The program welcomes applications from anyone interested in the program outcomes and priorities, and we do not limit access based on race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.

Who should apply?
  • Faculty who feel they may fall outside the typical schema of “leader” who wish to enhance their competency in strategic decision making and in managing change.
  • Faculty who are passionate about scholarship, teaching, and service on behalf of their students and society.
  • Faculty interested in building personal professional support network at Penn State.
  • Faculty interested in action and advocacy for diversity and inclusion.
  • Faculty interested in using positive influence to mitigate unconscious bias as well as systemic and institutionalized inequity.
  • Faculty who feel they would benefit from belonging to a strong community of like-minded faculty committed to similar goals.
How much time will I need to invest in the program?
This is a six month program.

Participants will commit to attending all of the following:

    • four 3-hour in-person workshops (October, November, January and February followed by a Graduation Capstone event in March.
    • a monthly meeting with your Success Circle (approximately 1.5 hours each –  in person or virtual).
    • The program will also include an optional CTF alumni mixer each semester and two leadership lunches each semester
How much does it cost?
  • The program makes a significant investment in you by covering  your costs. We secure sponsorships from Deans, other campus administrators and some internal PSU grant funding. We always ask participants to make sure they let sponsors know how valuable the experience is!
I am not interested in being an administrator. Should I participate in this leadership program?
  • Yes!  We define leadership broadly. Essentially, we empower you to define leadership as you see it and to apply your leadership expertise in any area – your scholarship, your teaching, or your service, which may or may not include an administrative position.
