BAMUD Promotes Regina Koda
On Friday, Bay Area Municipal Utility District (BAMUD) General Manager Alex Crane announced the promotion of employee Regina Koda to the position of Director of Finance. Koda will be responsible for oversight of the District’s $900 million annual budget. Crane stated, “Over the past 12 years Regina has demonstrated extraordinary leadership. She began as a Project Manager and is now the Director of Finance. Her knowledge, skills and abilities are amazing.”
Koda was hired by BAMUD in 2006 as Project Manager of the Resource Recovery Program. Under Koda’s leadership, the Resource Recovery Program became a national leader in the field of resource recovery by converting waste products to energy. The program has won numerous environmental excellence awards, including several from the EPA. Koda is recognized in the wastewater utility industry for her outstanding leadership and technical abilities. Koda has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University and a master’s in civil engineering from U.C. Berkeley. She’s also registered as a professional engineer in California. Koda has prior work experience in public agency bond funding.
In 2014, Koda was promoted to Treasury Manager where she was responsible for management of the District’s deferred compensation and pension plans. BAMUD Board of Directors President Linda Maloney stated, “Regina is an extremely intelligent person who conducts business with professionalism and integrity. She’s exceeded every performance goal established.” During her career at BAMUD, Koda has received an Outstanding Employee award and two Team Achievement recognition awards. Koda’s promotion is effective March 1st.
