The leadership can certainly be different from every individual including how they are assessed and portrayed towards others to ensure success. A leader may always have to change their process on not only how they are learning such behaviors for next steps but also behind the process on the type of approach taken. Leadership behaviors depend a lot also on the core values and certain structures that can be used to evaluate whether one is good or bad leader. One of the ways leadership focus includes style type of approach which is focusing on identifying leader’s behaviors including what leaders do and how they act.
Every leader in different situations may identify what they believe is the core behaviors of an effective leadership. One of the best ways to approach any situation through leadership style approach is organized to assess the true information and then considering possible options for future. There have been multiple studies conducted that concludes that the style approach type of leadership includes the behavior of the leaders and as Northouse describes, that the style approach is made up of two kinds of behaviors which are task and relationship behaviors and they both individually explain on how they influence on trying to reach a goal (Northouse, 2016).
Not all leaders are going to be same including the type of leadership they posses on how others will react to it. Every leader are going to be different in terms of style or situational leadership. Style approach can be summarized mostly as two fundamental behaviors which are around managing risks and managing people. Leaders have to be effective in doing both but as the style approach leadership states that task behaviors includes those that are focused on the accomplishment of goals and relationship behaviors help followers feel comfortable with themselves, each other and with the situation (PSUWC, 2020).
When it comes to being a leader, there are multiple different types of factors that surrounds leaders including situations. The leadership that is displayed in such situations does go through specific situation and the leader’s actions then depend on it including its followers. As stated in the lesson commentary, “But unlike the style approach, the situational approach is prescriptive rather than descriptive. What that means is that it actively tells leaders which behaviors they need for specific sets of followers in particular situations. In other words, the situational approach tells leaders they should change the degree to which they are directive or supportive based on the changing needs of their followers. Thus, the situational approach recognizes the importance of the leaders, follower, and situation” (PSUWC, 2020).
When it comes to situational leadership, the more direct and supportive types of behaviors are really important which include listening and clarifying such situations if needed. Hersey and Blanchard states that the situational leadership approach uses four different styles which is delegating, supporting, coaching and directing to find out what type of style each of these four categories fall into such as being high or low supportive or directive type (Northouse, 2016). Managers in different organizations who are also leaders into this situation also adjust their decision-making styles and approaches based on finding out more about the situation at hand to then adjust since the management’s influence does have a lot to do with the type of approach.

What I liked about your post was how you described and broke down how there are different variations of leaderships styles. I agree with you that not all leaders are going to be the same type of leaders. This is what makes this style so interesting. There is so much that can go into it. In the areas where one person might not be as sharp or strong, another person can support them in that area and vice versa. “For leaders t be effective, it is essential that they determine where followers are on the developmental continuum and adapt their leadership styles so they directly match their style to that developmental level” (Northouse, 2016, p. 97). While different levels of management showcase a different leadership style, they are each doing so based on the level that they have to lead and the goal they are trying to achieve.

Your post was really great and I thought the story of Rene Martinez the business owner from the reading, fit well with your post in that even though Rene had many employees at various levels, Rene understands that their leadership style must change for each of his employees (Northouse,2016, p. 97-98). This example illustrates how followers can move back and forth along the developmental continuum, requiring leaders to be flexible in their leadership behavior (Northouse, 2016, p. 98). I think its important for leaders to be adaptable and have a better sense of their employees so that they may be ready if anything were ever to happen. I think it’s not just an employee’s experience level that plays a role, for instance an employee’s age and gender both can affect their desired leadership style as we learned in the readings (Northouse, 2016, p. 102).
